Bay Area's Best Karate Team was created in 1991 by Michael Dobashi with the single goal of promoting the Bay Area's Best martial artists in kumite and kata. Bay Area's Best has won 5 World Team Championships in the NBL. None of this would have happened without the contributions of great Bay Area legends of sport karate, such as Woody Sims, Eric Dobashi, Satch Williams, Damon Gilbert, Don Togisala, Troy Whaley, Anthony Brewer, Tami Whelan, Moe Lama, Jordan Pallen, Rudy Ladua, Darryl Dobashi, Ken Torres, Vince Vanderlipe, Junior Salientes, Tyrone Ward, Anthony Ceasar, Paul Mendoza, Max Pallen, and Geoff Quares. These names are just a few of the pioneers, and many future members also came along and provided excellence as well.
